Anika Rosczyk
Anika Rosczyk is a Public History student at the Freie Universität Berlin. She is writing her master´s thesis as part of the GUMELAB project on the reception of a series about the Colonia Dignidad in Chile. For Anika, the most exciting initial idea of the research is how strongly series and films can influence the historical perception of entire generations.
Her favorite series is Sex and the City (US, 1998-2004)
Carolina
Carolina Echeverri Toro
Student of Communications at the University of Antioquia and part of the GUMELAB project with her undergraduate work. She has a great interest in the processes of the historical memory that are proposed in Colombia, especially regarding education and the ways certain events are communicated.
Her favorite series is Greys Anatomy (2005 -)
Catalina
Catalina Brunetti Casas-Cordero
Catalina is a journalist and is studying for a Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Latin American Studies at the Free University of Berlin. She is enthusiastic about GUMELAB's analysis of television fiction as an artefact of memory. She is a scholarship holder of the project and during her stay in Chile she will participate in the tandem with the Universidad de Chile and carry out her fieldwork on the reception of the series Los 80 incorporating a gender approach.
One of her favorite TV series is La fiera (Chile, 1999).
Crystal
Crystal Sarmiento Jara
Crystal Sarmiento Jara is a journalism student at the Universidad de Chile. She’s researching the methods by which a biopic and a docudrama are constructed and what is considered for script writing of these genres. The GUMELAB project has given her the possibility to include other perspectives in her research, from the visit to another country. In her opinión, the GUMELAB project is special because it is supporting different investigations that unite for one objetive.
Her favorites series are Friends (1994) and Pretty Little Liars (2010)
Paulina
Paulina Jerez Vilches
Paulina Jerez Vilches is a journalism student at the Universidad de Chile. She 's currently working on how research takes place at the moment of creating a docudrama or biopic series.
What she likes more about Gumelab is that it provides her the opportunity to expand her research to the knowledge archived in other places.
Her favorite serie is Avatar: the last air bender (2005-2008).
Stephany
Stephany Ortega Ferrer
Stephany Ortega Ferrer is an economist by profession and a master’s student in Interdisciplinary Latin American Studies at the Freie Universität Berlin with a profile in Gender relations, ways of life and transformations. She is interested in the power that audiovisual productions have on the audience, as well as the important role they play in the construction of memory, identities, social interactions, and gender roles
One of her favourite telenovelas is Voltea pa' que te enamores (Venezuela, 2006-2007).
